The last major domino of college basketball’s offseason has finally fallen. Andrew White, who announced his intention to transfer from Nebraska in June, has picked Syracuse over VCU, according to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports. White will be eligible immediately as a grad transfer and gives the Orange a talented and experienced replacement for the departed Malachi Richardson on the wing.
Syracuse lands impact transfer Andrew White from Nebraska
White made 41 percent of his threes last year for Nebraska.

This is a big addition for Syracuse. White has great size at 6’7, 220 pounds and turned into one of the Big Ten’s best three-point shooters last season at Nebraska. White averaged 16.6 points and 5.9 rebounds on 48.1 percent shooting from the field and 41.2 percent shooting from three-point range on 6.2 attempts per game.
This is the third stop of White college’s career. He began at Kansas as the No. 48 prospect in the class of 2012 (per ESPN), where he joined a recruiting class that included Perry Ellis and Landen Lucas. He left Lawrence after his sophomore season, sitting out a year before making his debut for Nebraska.
White is the second major grad transfer Syracuse has added this offseason, joining former Colorado State point guard John Gillon. The Orange made a shocking run to the Final Four last year as a No. 10 seed and are expected to be led by sophomore power forward Tyler Lydon.
