“Kneel for Injustice. Kneel for Equality.”

Virginia basketball has joined the fight for equality in America. The team posted a photo of every player kneeling at halfcourt while dressed in all black on Thursday night, accompanied by the caption “Kneel for Injustice. Kneel for Equality.”

The picture was also tweeted by Marial Shayok, Ty Jerome, and Tevon Gross, and retweeted by other players on the roster.

This is the latest example of the sports world joining Colin Kaepernick’s non-violent protest to raise awareness for police brutality and racial injustice against black Americans. Since beginning his protest in August, Kaepernick has been joined by athletes in the NFL, college football, and WNBA.

Virginia is likely to begin the year as a top-10 team when the preseason polls come out. The Cavaliers have won 29 or more games each of the last three seasons, and made it to the Elite Eight last year.
