Grayson Allen ran into a Florida State coach, who isn’t all that mad about it
This should not be the Duke star’s latest controversy, says the FSU assistant who got shoved.

College basketball fans don’t want to give Grayson Allen the benefit of the doubt. After three highly publicized tripping incidents and another almost-trip in his second game back from suspension, Allen’s apparent inability to control himself has become the biggest story in the sport. His every action is now under a microscope and that proved to be the case again vs. Florida State on Wednesday.
Allen created a minor stir when he drove into the opposing bench to save a loose ball and appeared to shove Florida State assistant Dennis Gates. Gates wasn’t here for another controversy. He tweeted a response on Wednesday morning pleading with the public to give Allen a break.
“All I view it to be is a GREAT HUSTLE PLAY,” Gates wrote. “Nothing more, nothing less.”
What Gates is more concerned about is Florida State picking up a huge home win. We tried to tell you the Seminoles are legit. The ACC just got even tougher.
