The college basketball landscape was turned upside down last week by a run of unprecedented upsets within the top 10. Nine teams ranked in last week’s top 10 suffered a loss, with two of those programs (Kentucky and Florida State) losing twice. Now we know what the new rankings look like.
NCAA basketball rankings 2017: Gonzaga ascends to No. 1
The new polls are out after a wild week with the unbeaten Gonzaga Bulldogs checking in at No. 1.

Gonzaga, the only unbeaten team in the country, checks in at No. 1. The Zags are a perfect 22-0 and avoided a letdown last week by winning all three of their games. Mark Few’s team has eight games left before the end of the regular season and has a very real chance of entering the NCAA tournament unbeaten.
The marquee game of this week will pit No. 2 Baylor vs. No. 3 Kansas. The Bears survived last week unscathed while Kansas lost to West Virginia but defeated Kentucky.
Villanova, last week’s No. 1, falls to No. 4 after losing to unranked Marquette and beating then-No. 12 Virginia at the buzzer. The Wildcats travel to Providence and host St. John’s this week.
