The Crosstown Shootout strikes again. No. 21 Xavier upset No. 11 Cincinnati, 89-76, on Saturday afternoon, and everything was pretty low key.
Cincinnati coach Mick Cronin has to be held back after Xavier player told him ‘F off’ 3 times
The Crosstown Shootout is never boring.

Until the postgame handshake.
Here’s video of Cronin being escorted away:
According to sources, Cincinnati’s head coach Mick Cronin had some ... choice words ... for Xavier’s senior guard JP Macura.
This apparently stemmed from trash talk from Macura during the game as he told him to “eff off” three times and some other not-so-polite things.
Xavier’s Coach Chris Mack was fired up as he addressed the situation post-game, adding an anecdote about an interaction he had with Cincinnati’s Lance Stephenson years ago. He also was adamant about not wanting “... the narrative to be anything other than us playing better than Cincinnati and beating Cincinnati today.”
Cronin was also issued a technical in the game, well before the post-game incident. This isn’t Cronin’s first foray into very public sideline antics, as he’s been held back by his players before. There’s also no love lost between the Musketeers and the Bearcats as they infamously brawled back in 2011 when No. 8 Xavier defeated Cincinnati.
