NIT 2017 schedule: Times, TV coverage, and live stream for Tuesday

Syracuse makes its highly anticipated trip to Greensboro, and more.

College basketball wasn’t gone long since the conference championship games Sunday. Between the First Four and the opening round of the NIT, there’s plenty of basketball to look forward to on Tuesday.

The biggest game on everybody’s radar is Syracuse traveling to take on UNC Greensboro. It’s not because it’s necessarily the best matchup, but rather because of what Syracuse head coach Jim Boeheim said last week about the ACC Tournament. “There’s no value to playing in Greensboro,” Boeheim said. “None.” That led to a rebuttal from the city on Twitter, and now we are treated with a matchup between the two.

Below the Orange in the bracket at No. 1 is Cal, who will be taking on fellow in-state school CSU Bakersfield. Cuonzo Martin’s Bears went 21-12 on the season, and were one of the last four teams out of the NCAA Tournament. Bakersfield went 22-9 on the season, before falling to New Mexico State in the WAC Tournament championship.

Another game of note is No. 3 Indiana at No. 6 Georgia Tech. Indiana had a rather disappointing season, while the Yellow Jackets were one of the bigger surprises in college basketball, despite missing out on the big dance. Josh Pastner led Georgia Tech to a 17-15 record, surpassing expectations coming into the season.

If none of the previously mentioned grab your attention, there’s plenty of other basketball games going on Tuesday night. Have your pick.
