The first wave of March Madness games have come to a close with no upsets. The first teams moving on to the second round this weekend are the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Virginia Cavaliers, both 5 seeds. Notre Dame squeaked out a 60-58 victory over the Princeton Tigers, who missed a three-point shot that would have put them up by one with a couple second left on the clock. Virginia overcame a 15-point deficit in the first half before taking control for the rest of the game and winning 76-71. The Cavaliers will need Isaiah Wilkins to recover fast from strep throat to avoid another bad start.

No. 4 Butler picked up a 12-point win over No. 13 Winthrop, 76-64, and No. 1 Gonzaga took a 20-point win over No. 16 South Dakota State, 66-46.

Games continue throughout the day, including Northwestern’s first NCAA tournament game, a showdown between Florida State and Florida Gulf Coast, and Wisconsin to face Virginia Tech. The excitement has only just begun.

If you can’t get to a TV, NCAA tournament games can be streamed via NCAA March Madness Live, CBS All-Access, or your iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch devices.
