UNC Wilmington has been one of America’s favorite upset picks in recent days, and with good reason. The Seahawks are 29-5 and returned the bulk of a roster that nearly stunned Duke in the first round of last year’s NCAA tournament.
UNC Wilmington’s Devontae Cacok dunks all over Virginia
The Seahawks are playing above the rim against Virginia

A guy who didn’t play a major role in that effort was Devontae Cacok. The 6’7 forward saw little action as a freshman, but after a postseason heart-to-heart with head coach Kevin Keatts, got himself ready for a breakout sophomore campaign.
The results have been remarkable. Cacok entered the NCAA tournament averaging 12.3 points and 9.6 rebounds per game, he was the Colonial Athletic Association’s Defensive Player of the Year, and he leads the nation in field goal percentage at just a hair under 80 percent.
Cacok’s transformation is the most evident in his leaner and more athletic frame, which he put on full display with this dunk in the first half of UNC Wilmington’s game against Virginia.
Virginia is a team that almost never allows transition baskets, making the dunk (and the pass) all the more impressive.
