Somehow this West Virginia player is okay after taking a point-blank pass to the face

Owwwwww.

Below you will find one of the most unfortunate things I’ve seen on a basketball court in a while. Here is Elijah Macon of West Virigina playing great defense before this dude who I refuse to name from Bucknell launches a ball to this face.

Let’s break it down:

  1. It may look like our friend from West Virginia is yelling because the ball is headed towards his face but he’s just being extremely active on defense. Never in his wildest dreams did he think no. 11 was about to wind up and smack him in the face with the ball.

2. This is the moment it all ended. The moment the player in the orange jersey decided against bouncing the ball off his defenders leg or foot to try and save the possession and used his defenders face instead.

3. This picture speaks for itself. There is nothing I can say here except no. 20 would have been a far better target for this pass.

4. This is the moment as a player you are convinced your entire face has fallen off and not only is your pride hurt, your face will surely never recover either.

Good news is, our friend from West Virigina’s face is fine! He kept on playing and I respect him for his good defense and better ego.
