The No. 4 Florida Gators and No. 5 Virginia Cavaliers will meet on Saturday in the second round of the NCAA tournament. Both teams advanced after beating a pair of teams that looked like they could give them an upset scare, in No. 12 Wilmington and No. 13 East Tennessee State.

Virginia played first, and there was a point in the first half in which the Cavs trailed the Seahawks 26-11. UVA’s offense got going, though, and wound up going to the locker room with a 30-29 lead. The Seahawks kept things close in the second half, both sides swapping back and forth between ties and one- and two-point leads, but the Hoos pulled away late inside the last minute of the half, winning by a final score of 76-71.

UVA’s London Perrantes led the way, with 24 points and three assists.

No. 4 Florida was in a close one at halftime against East Tennessee State, leading by a score of just 33-32. But the Gators offense pulled away in the second half, scoring 47 points and holding the Buccaneers to just 33. Florida’s Devin Robinson shot 59 percent from the floor, and finished with 24 points and seven rebounds.
