The No. 1 overall seeded Villanova Wildcats look to continue their NCAA tournament journey after an easy victory in their first-round matchup. The Wildcats handled the No. 16 Creighton Bluejays, getting started with a 36-22 lead at halftime. Nova didn’t take its foot off the gas in the second half, scoring another 38 points to win, 74-60. Villanova’s Josh Hart, the Big East Player of the Year, finished with 28 points on the night.

In the second round, the Wildcats will face the No. 8 seed Wisconsin Badgers at 2:40 p.m. ET Saturday. The Badgers didn’t have as easy of a matchup as Villanova did. They entered the first round against the No. 9 Virginia Tech Hokies on Thursday night. The game was close throughout — Wisconsin led by just four, 34-30, at halftime.
In the second half, the Hokies kept the game close and entertaining throughout. The Badgers weren’t able to fully pull away until the final two minutes, eventually winning by a final score of 84-74. Badgers senior guard Bronson Koenig led Wisconsin’s scoring effort with 28 points.
Early lines, according to OddsShark, lists the Wildcats as 5.5-point favorites.
