By some miracle of scheduling, weather, and design, the lone NIT second round game on Saturday is a matchup between No. 1 Syracuse and No. 5 Ole Miss at 11 a.m. ET in Syracuse’s Carrier Dome.
NIT 2017 schedule: Times, TV coverage, and live stream for Saturday
Ole Miss and Syracuse in the Carrier Dome is the only NIT game on Saturday.

The Orange, who went on a deep run to last year’s Final Four in the NCAA tournament, find themselves as a top seed in the 2017 NIT, and some considered them a glaring snub from the Big Dance field. Be that as it may, Jim Boeheim’s club took some rough losses this season to St. John’s, Boston College, Pittsburgh, and Georgetown, and then promptly failed out of the ACC tournament to the tune of a 62-57 loss to Miami.
Ole Miss, for its part, is fresh off a 91-83 victory over Monmouth — who probably should have been in this year’s tournament but isn’t. The Rebels have had an up-and-down year. They played Baylor to within three and hung with Creighton for the better part of 35 minutes before falling apartment in the Paradise Jam. The Rebs can score when they need to, but their fortunes hang squarely on the shoulders of center Sebastian Saiz, who went through something of a late-season funk.
The winner of Saturday’s game will play the winner of Georgia Tech and Belmont, who face off on Sunday. Because Syracuse is the higher seed, Ole Miss will travel to New York for the second round game.
