Kentucky is coming off a win over Northern Kentucky in their first-round matchup. It was the latter’s first appearance in the tournament, and they largely have Bam Adebayo to blame for their early exit.
Adebayo had 15 points and 18 rebounds for Kentucky. Nobody else on the team hit double digits in rebounds, though Deaaron Fox ended up with 19 points.
Wichita State made it to the second round by beating Dayton, 64-58, in their opener. It was a slow game for them, and they didn’t jump out for the big lead until late in the game. But it was enough to put them over, with all of Zach Brown, Shaquille Morris and Landry Shamet breaking double digits in points.
