The NCAA women tip off the Elite Eight round on Sunday, and Nos. 1 Notre Dame and Baylor will both be looking to advance into this year’s Final Four round. Notre Dame will meet the Lexington region’s No. 2 seed Stanford at noon ET, and Baylor’s women will face off against the Oklahoma City region’s No. 2 seed Mississippi State. Prepare for a lot of scoring and some close finishes.

Saturday saw the two top teams in the country, UConn and South Carolina, beat their opponents. The Huskies had a tougher go of things, beating No. 4 seed UCLA, 86-71, while the Gamecocks led by head coach Dawn Staley trounced Quinnipiac, 100-58. Carolina’s starters didn’t even play the final six minutes.

The story this year is whether or not anyone is capable of dethroning Geno Auriemma’s UConn club. The Huskies are sitting on a 110-game winning streak currently, and their next foe, No. 10 Oregon, would require a Herculean effort to pull off a win. It’s not very likely.
