Lawrence Police Department roasts Kansas after another Elite Eight loss

Every one gets trolled, it’s cool. But usually the trolling doesn’t come from your own police department.

Top-seeded Kansas was dealt an upset loss by Oregon Saturday at the Midwest Regional final in Kansas City. The Jayhawks were also a No. 1 seed a year ago, when they fell to eventual national champion Villanova in the Elite Eight.

It’s a trend that whoever runs the official Twitter account of the Lawrence Police Department has seen enough of.

Thankfully, Kansas fans near campus seemed to be more sad than angry this go-round. Or maybe they were all in Kansas City.

Saturday’s loss marks the fifth time in Bill Self’s 14-year tenure at Kansas that the Jayhawks have been beaten in the Elite Eight. KU has been favored in all seven of those regional final games, making the five losses that much more difficult to swallow for the fan base.

Despite this continued frustration (for both the fans and the police department), it’s nice to see that no one is getting out of hand. It’s not the tree’s fault, man. Tyler Dorsey’s just in the zone.
