Brittany McPhee caught fire late to start the comeback.

Cutting down a 14-point halftime deficit to just two by the end of the third quarter, Stanford made what appeared to be a blowout a close one. They shot a blistering 46 percent from the three-point line, making 12 shots to get back into it.
Notre Dame had the chance to win at the buzzer with the ball underneath its opponents hoop with 2.2 seconds left, but Erica McCall blocked Arike Ogunbowale from behind to seal the win.
The Irish couldn’t find the depth to make up for the absence of Brianna Turner, their leading scorer, who tore her ACL in the team’s second-round overtime win against Purdue.
Stanford’s Brittany McPhee was the star and caught fire, knocking down five threes for a game-high 27 points. She exploded in the second half, and pushed her team back into a game it appeared to have no business being in.
The No. 2 Cardinal will play the winner of No. 1 South Carolina vs. No. 3 Florida State for a spot in the championship game.
