It’s not quite the main event of the week for the college basketball world, but the NIT championship game matchup will be set Tuesday with a pair of semifinal games on the slate. The Final Four of the NIT features CSU Bakersfield, Georgia Tech, TCU, and UCF after a series of upsets.

B.J. Taylor and UCF look to reach the NIT final on Tuesday night.
All four of those teams are seeded No. 4 or lower after a tournament that saw all of the top-seeded teams get knocked out. None of the No. 1 seeds even made it to the quarterfinals, and only Illinois made it among the No. 2 seeds. The Fighting Illini were knocked out in that round by UCF.
Now the No. 4 Knights, who possess a 24-11 record, will have to face No. 4 TCU for a chance at the NIT title. They’re led by high-scoring guard B.J. Taylor, who has averaged 17.6 points and 3.6 assists per game this season.
The other matchup sees a pair of lower seeds in No. 8 CSU Bakersfield and No. 6 Georgia Tech meet. CSU Bakersfield won the WAC regular season title, but missed an NCAA tournament bid by losing to New Mexico State in the conference tournament championship game.
The Yellow Jackets surpassed expectations in the ACC under new coach Josh Pastner, going 8-10 as part of a 20-15 overall record. They’ve knocked out solid teams in Mississippi, Belmont, and Indiana to reach the NIT semifinals.
