The 2017 NCAA women’s basketball tournament is down to the Final Four, featuring No. 1 UConn and No. 2 Mississippi State from the Bridgeport and Oklahoma City regions, and No. 1 South Carolina vs. No. 2 Stanford from the Stockton and Lexington regions.

The No. 1 overall seeded Huskies haven’t been tested very much in the tournament so far. They won their first two games of the tournament by a combined 91 points, beating No. 16 Albany and No. 8 Syracuse in the first two rounds. The Huskies beat then the No. 4 UCLA Bruins 86-71, followed with a 90-52 win over No. 10 Oregon to advance to the Final Four.

Mississippi State was able to knock off the No. 2 Baylor Bears in overtime in the Elite Eight on Sunday evening to advance to the Final Four. This is the first Final Four trip for the Bulldogs in program history.

In the other region, No. 2 Stanford had to rally back from a 16-point deficit against No. 1 Notre Dame in the Elite Eight, and won 76-75 in the final seconds to pull off the victory. The win gave the Cardinal an eight-game win streak, which extends back to last month. Stanford’s opponent, No. 1 South Carolina, defeated No. 3 Florida State in the last round to advance, joining the Gamecock men’s team with a Final Four berth.

The two games of the Final Four will both be played on Friday night, with Stanford-South Carolina for the first game, and UConn-Mississippi State being the second.
