The 2017 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference basketball tournament crowned North Carolina Central as champions after they earned a 67-56 victory over No. 2 Norfolk State.
North Carolina Central tore through its conference schedule on the way to a 13-2 record in league play and were 22-7 overall.

With 13 teams in the conference, the top four seeds earn byes into the second round. For academic progress reasons, Savannah State is barred from postseason play this year, so 12 teams will face off in Norfolk.
