The Iona Gaels took care of the Siena Saints, 87-86, to capture the MAAC championship and punch their ticket to March Madness. The game went down to the wire, as overtime was needed to separate No. 3 seed Iona from No. 4 seed Siena.

Iona was led by Jordan Washington, who went for 21 points and 10 rebounds. In a valiant effort, Siena guard Marquis Wright put up 29 points to go along with seven rebounds and five assists.
It was a balanced attack from the Gaels, as all five starters for Iona ended up with double-figures in the scoring column.
While Siena out-rebounded Iona by 18 (52-34), the team went 19-of-30 from the free throw line while Iona shot 18-of-21 from the charity stripe.
In terms of the MAAC tournament, this will be the second year in a row that No. 1-seeded Monmouth didn’t run the table.
