As this year’s Final Four in Glendale, Ariz. approaches, it’s important to look forward to future national semifinal host sites and plan accordingly. Glendale, in fact, was the first western U.S. city to host the four-team tilt since Seattle did so in 1995.
Final Four locations: Where will the title games be played through 2021?
San Antonio and Atlanta are among the future sites for the men’s Final Four.
As the site of the NCAA’s headquarters, Indianapolis already has an agreement with the college athletics governing body that the city should host the Final Four on a regular basis. Thus, Indy gets college basketball’s main event again in 2021, having hosted the Midwest Region here in 2017’s tournament. The Crossroads of America last hosted a Final Four at Lucas Oil Stadium in 2015, when Duke staved off a furious Wisconsin effort to claim the national title.
Atlanta will host for the fifth time in 2020, and that Final Four will take place in the brand new Mercedes-Benz Stadium, future home of the Atlanta Falcons. The Alamodome in San Antonio will be the site for the 2018 semifinal and final rounds.
In sum, the host sites for the Final Four and national title games through 2021 are as follows:
- 2018: San Antonio, Texas
- 2019: Minneapolis, Minn.
- 2020: Atlanta, Ga.
- 2021: Indianapolis, Ind.
Next year, San Antonio is your destination for the greatest show on the hardwood.
