Can the Gamecocks continue their magical run?
The Gamecocks have made it to their first ever Final Four in program history, after defeating the No. 4 Florida Gators 77-70 in the Elite Eight last Sunday. South Carolina’s Sindarius Thornwell enters the tournament averaging 22 points and seven rebounds per game. The Gamecock’s scoring defense ranks 31st in the country, holding opponents to just 65 points per game.
The Gamecocks have a big test in front of them with the Bulldogs on Saturday night. Gonzaga is currently riding a seven-game win streak, including wins over the No. 8 Northwestern Wildcats, the No. 4 West Virginia Mountaineers, and the No. 11 Xavier Musketeers in the tournament. Bulldog junior Nigel Williams-Goss leads the Zags’ scoring effort with 17 points per game, along with six rebounds.
