Kansas power forward Carlton Bragg will transfer from the program, the school announced Thursday. Bragg is a former five-star recruit and has two years of eligibility remaining, and he’ll have to sit a season before playing for his next school.
Carlton Bragg leaving Kansas, putting a former 5-star recruit on the transfer market
The Jayhawks won’t have much experience on their front line next season, but they’ll have talent.

Bragg will be one of the country’s most in-demand transfers. He was the No. 6 power forward and No. 24 overall player in the class of 2015, according to the 247Sports Composite. He showed promise but never took off in two seasons in Lawrence.
He averaged five points and four rebounds in 14 minutes last season, with a middling 51 percent effective field goal percentage. He came off the bench for all but the first five games, and Bill Self didn’t play him in the Jayhawks’ Elite Eight loss to Oregon.
Bragg was suspended for a short spell during the middle of the season after he faced a misdemeanor drug charge.
Kansas was thin in the frontcourt this year, with only center Landen Lucas functioning as a true post presence. The Jayhawks were missing another center, four-star freshman Udoka Azubuike, for much of the season. Azubuike will be important for Self’s team next year, and it’ll also help to have five-star power forward Billy Preston joining the fold.
