Four-star 2018 basketball recruit Darius Bazley caused some heartache for the Ohio State fan base after his decommitment from the program last week. He was one of the best prospects in the state, after all, and had been verbally committed to the Buckeyes for more than a year.

Ohio State fans could only grow sadder as Bazley pulled off an unreal acrobatic move at the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League tournament in Atlanta:
I’m not sure I completely understand what even happened here.
There’s a good chance he would’ve been fouled on his way up for a dunk, but he didn’t want to take the slight risk of getting blocked. Instead, the 6’7 forward went for a layup with his opposite hand which he didn’t release until he was long past the peak of his jump:
The future looks bright for Bazley, the No. 55 recruit in the country according to 247Sports. It just won’t be at Ohio State.
