5-star point guard Trevon Duval commits to Duke
Duke has added one of the top guards in the country.

Duval is an attacking 6’3 guard known for his athleticism. He’s ranked as the No. 5 player in the class of 2017 by ESPN.
Duval’s commitment comes just a few days after former Duke guard Frank Jackson announced he would keep his name in the NBA draft. This is Duke’s second big commitment of the week coming on the heels of the addition of four-star wing Jordan Tucker.
Duval projects to start at point guard next season alongside senior Grayson Allen. His game has drawn comparisons to a young Derrick Rose for his explosiveness around the rim. Here’s proof:
Duval picked Duke over Baylor, Seton Hall, Arizona, and others. He joins a Duke recruiting class that already includes five-star prospects in shooting guard Gary Trent Jr. and big man Wendell Carter.
Duke needs to replace a ton of production next season with Jayson Tatum, Luke Kennard, and Jackson bouncing to the NBA, while Amile Jefferson and Matt Jones are lost to graduation. The addition of Duval will certainly help fill the void.
