Duke is keeping it in the family. The Blue Devils have secured a commitment from 5-star point guard Tre Jones, the younger brother of former star Tyus Jones.

Jone is ranked as the No. 19 player and No. 4 point guard in the class of 2018, according to ESPN. Jones is Duke’s first commitment in the 2018 class.

Jones’ college choice always felt like a formality. Tyus Jones helped power Duke to the a national championship in 2015 and promptly became a first round NBA draft pick. The native of Apple Valley, Minn., could be Duke’s starting point guard a year from now if incoming freshman Trevon Duval declares for the NBA draft after one season, as many expect.

Jones averaged 19.3 points and a league-high 8.3 assists per game on Nike’s EYBL circuit this summer.

Duke is likely to put together another monster recruiting class around Jones. The Blue Devils are considered the front-runners for 5-star wing Cameron Reddish. There’s also a strong possibility Duke lands No. 1 ranked prospect Marvin Bagley III for this upcoming season.
