A new 3-on-3 basketball tournament is coming to the Final Four with $100K on the line for college seniors. The tournament will run over three days from March 30 to April 1 in San Antonio at the site of this year’s Final Four. The teams will be comprised of the top seniors in the sport who have already exhausted their eligibility with the NCAA.

The game of 3-on-3 is experiencing something of a renaissance lately. The Olympics have decided to include it in the 2020 Tokyo games while Ice Cube’s BIG3 league for retired NBA players has also risen to notoriety. A 3-on-3 tournament at the Final Four is particularly exciting because it will reward a few lucky college players who have been playing for free for the last four years.
Who are some of the seniors who might compete in this should their teams fail to reach the Final Four? Duke’s Grayson Allen is the most well-known player in the country. Some other top seniors in college basketball this year include Kansas’ DeVonte’ Graham, Notre Dame’s Bonzie Colson, Purdue’s Vince Edwards and Isaac Haas, North Carolina’s Joel Berry II, Xavier’s Trevon Bluiett, and Seton Hall’s Angel Delgado.
It isn’t often the NCAA gives us a feel-good event like this that actually rewards players. Well done to everyone involved.
