Wake Forest basketball landed one of its most highly-touted recruits ever on Saturday. Jaylen Hoard, a 6’8 French wing, committed to the Demon Deacons over offers from USC, Arizona, Louisville and others.

Hoard is ranked as the No. 19 prospect in the class of 2018 by ESPN. He’s the third 5-star recruit in program history, following Chris Paul and Al-Farouq Aminu. Hoard made the announcement on Twitter.

Hoard arrived at Wesleyan Christian Academy in Fayetteville, NC last year from France. He’s a long wing who can handle the ball and has shown major improvement as a shooter. This is head coach Danny Manning’s biggest recruit to date.

Playing for Team CP3 on Nike’s EYBL circuit this year, Hoard averaged 14.9 points and and 6.4 rebounds while shooting 39 percent from three-point range in 21 games.

Hoard played for France in the 2016 FIBA U18 World Championship, where he averaged 22.4 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game. Watch highlights of Hoard via DraftExpress:
