Chapel Hill is a house of horrors for Clemson basketball. The Tigers entered their Tuesday night contest 0-58 at North Carolina all-time. That hasn’t changed even during one of the program’s best seasons in recent history.

No. 15 North Carolina outlasted No. 20 Clemson, 87-79, at the Dean Dome on Tuesday despite a game effort from the Tigers. Clemson trailed by 15 at the half, but cut the lead to just three points with eight minutes left. That’s when Carolina flexed its superior talent and ran away with the victory.

Cameron Johnson was on fire for the Tar Heels, finishing with 21 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the field and 6-of-9 shooting from three-point range. Joel Berry II added 17 points, while Luke Maye recovered from a nasty cut on his face to finish with 11 points.

Clemson was impressive in the loss. Marcquise Reed had 19 points and five steals, while teammate Shelton Mitchell added 18 points.

Clemson is now 0-59 all-time in Chapel Hill. Better luck next year, Tigers. Maybe you’ll have Zion Williamson on your side.
