Trae Young has thoroughly dominated college basketball through the first two months of his Oklahoma career. The Sooners point guard entered Tuesday night’s game against Kansas State leading the country in both points and assists per game. No one has ever done that before in the modern era.

The Oklahoma star had 12 turnovers — the most by any player this season — as Kansas State upset the No. 4 Sooners.

It’s left college basketball fans wondering: Can Young be stopped? Turns out he can be. It took Kansas State to do it.
The Wildcats upset No. 4 Oklahoma 87-69 in Manhattan by running efficient offense and smothering Young all night. The freshman star finished with 20 points and six assists, but he shot just 8-of-21 from the floor, 2-of-10 from three-point range and turned the ball over 12 times.
Those 12 turnovers are a season-high for any player this season:

Young was held scoreless the first 10 minutes of the game. His 12 turnovers are a career-high.
Young’s 20 points amount to his lowest-scoring game since his college debut, when he scored 15 on Omaha.

But enough about Young: This game was about how great Kansas State looked. Barry Brown put up 24 points and five assists and locked down Young all night. Teammate Dean Wade added 21 points in the win.
