Former Kansas five-star freshman forward Billy Preston has signed with a Bosnian professional team, ending debate over his possible return to the Jayhawks. His eligibility had been a concern since November, and his plan is to play pro ball now and enter the 2018 NBA Draft, his mother told ESPN’s Jeff Borzello.

Preston was involved in a single car crash that didn’t result in any serious injury on Nov. 11, and three days later the school announced that they were looking into a financial situation surrounding the car.

He’d never return to play a game for the Jayhawks.

Preston will now play for BC Ikogea of Bosnia. According to Jonathan Givony, there are five games left in the Adriatic League, and then he’ll play in the Bosnian League.
