Oklahoma State got a front row view to the Trae Young show on Saturday afternoon. The Cowboys still came away with a 83-81 overtime win over No. 4 Oklahoma despite a career-best day from Young.

Trae Young’s 48 points weren’t enough for the No. 4 Sooners.


Oklahoma State sent the game to OT in the final seconds on this three from Kendall Smith. It appeared Young tried to foul him but the refs didn’t call it:
The Cowboys sealed the victory in OT as Young missed a last second three-pointer.
Oklahoma State fans promptly stormed the court.
Jeffrey Carroll led the Cowboys with 23 points and 13 rebounds in the win. Smith came off the bench to score 20 points.
Reports of Trae Young’s demise were greatly exaggerated. After the worst game of his college career on Tuesday against Kansas State, the Oklahoma freshman followed it up with another gem: 48 points and eight assists on 14-of-38 shooting (with seven turnovers).
Young shot only 4-of-15 in the first half, but took over in the final 20 minutes. It was Young’s third 40-point game of the season and a new career-high.

It just wasn’t enough. This is the second straight loss for the Sooners, who will tumble in the rankings from No. 4 on Monday.
It’s a huge win for Oklahoma State. The Cowboys are now 13-6 overall and 3-4 in the conference.
