Texas Tech’s Keenan Evans continues star turn with buzzer-beater to sink Texas
Evans is one of the breakout stars of this college basketball season.

Keenan Evans buried Texas at the buzzer with this overtime game-winner to give No. 10 Texas Tech a 73-71 home win over the Longhorns. It was the culmination of his best game of the season.
Evans was unstoppable Wednesday night against Texas, attacking the basket all night on his way to a career-high 38 points. He sank 18 of 20 free throw attempts to get there, but his biggest hit was a pull-up jumper.
Evans has made a superstar turn in his senior season. The Texas Tech guard was a three-star recruit out of high school, barely ranked as a top 300 player nationally. He was only the No. 19 player in the state of Texas. But he’s gotten better every season in Lubbock, leading to a breakout senior year that has put him among the top guards in America.
This is a heartbreaking loss for Texas’ tournament chances. Meanwhile, Texas Tech’s remarkable turnaround this season under Chris Beard appears to be very real.
