The magical year for the No. 1 Virginia Cavaliers continued Thursday night when they pulled victory from the jaws of defeat against Louisville thanks to game-winning three-point shot at the buzzer.
Virginia seals improbable comeback win over Louisville with last-second 3-point bank shot
De’Andre Hunter hits the game-winner for No. 1 Cavs.

De’Andre Hunter hit the game-winning bank shot to erase a two-point deficit in the final second, but there was much more to the comeback than that.
Virginia (27-2, 16-1), which already sealed the regular-season championship in the ACC, trailed the Cardinals by as many as 13 in the second half and were down four points with a mere five seconds remaining. Ty Jerome was then fouled on a three-point attempt with 0.9 seconds left, and hit the first two free throws to cut Virginia’s deficit in half.
A lane violation by Mamadi Diakite on the third attempt seemed to torpedo the Cavaliers’ chances, but an out of bounds violation on Deng Adel of Louisville gave Virginia one last opportunity. The inbound pass from Jerome found Hunter, who banked in the game-winner. Cavaliers took home the win, 67-66.
