When the folks in charge at Little Caesars devised this little marketing ploy they probably never thought they would have to put their literal money where their mouth is:
UMBC beat Virginia so we all get free Little Caesars because a 16-seed has never beaten a No. 1

Heading into Virginia’s game against UMBC, No. 1 seeds were 135-0 against No. 16s in the first round of the NCAA tournament. There was no reason to think a massive upset would occur because it never has and teams rarely even get scared.
Then the ball tipped and Virginia had one of the worst nights in NCAA tournament history.
But the Cavs’ loss is all of our gain, because now we all get free pizza. The fine print on the deal:
