Michigan buzzer-beater stuns Houston, sends Wolverines to Sweet 16

The 2018 NCAA tournament got its first true buzzer-beater in Saturday’s final game, and it was a beauty.

Following two missed free-throws by Houston’s Devin Davis that could have locked up a Sweet 16 spot for the Cougars, Michigan freshman Jordan Poole did this:

It was Poole’s first made shot of the second half.

“I was thinking on the sidelines (before the play), this is what March Madness is made of,” Poole said after the game.

The Wolverines are now headed to their second straight Sweet 16 and their fourth since 2013. Houston was looking to advance out of the tournament’s opening weekend for the first time since 1984.
