For the second year in a row, the ACC Men’s Basketball Tournament was held in Brooklyn at the Barclays Center. The No. 1 Virginia Cavaliers avenged tournament losses to North Carolina in 2015 and 2016 by beating the Tar Heels in Friday’s championship game.
ACC Tournament 2018: Bracket, schedule, scores, teams, and more
The top seed Virginia ran the table in Brooklyn

Last year’s champion, the Duke Blue Devils, fell to the rival Tar Heels in the semifinals. North Carolina built a huge lead only to see it cut to three points in the final minute thanks to a furious 13-0 Duke run. But UNC held on to dispatch the favored Blue Devils.
The Cavaliers cemented their status as an NCAA Tournament No. 1 seed by clearing out the nation’s toughest conference, and history is in their favor.
The ACC Tournament title helps Virginia clear an easier path to the Final Four.
The Stakes
Duke is the No. 2 seed behind Virginia, who won the regular season title by going 17-1 in the conference and 28-2 overall. The Cavaliers will be the top-seeded team for just the fourth time overall. Virginia’s lone ACC loss came at the hands of Virginia Tech on Feb. 10. Right behind Duke is No. 3 Miami, followed by No. 4 Clemson, No. 5 NC State, No. 6 North Carolina, No. 7 Virginia Tech, No. 8 Florida State, and No. 9 Louisville.
The Format
The top nine teams receive first-round byes and the top four teams receive double-byes to the quarterfinals. Teams are seeded by record within the conference, with a tiebreaker system to seed teams with identical conference records.
