Rick Pitino is really mad at the Louisville’s “board of traitors,” and he wants to coach basketball again at some level, according to ESPN’s Jeff Goodman. “The level doesn’t matter to me,” Pitino told ESPN, “I just need it to be someone who believes in me.”

He’s even hired an agent.

Pitino was fired as Louisville basketball’s head coach in October after he’d been implicated in an alleged conspiracy with Adidas to pay $100,000 to a five-star recruit. Pitino denied accusations, though the school fired him “for cause.”
Pitino was not shy about his anger in the interview with ESPN, saying, “Every night I go to bed, I’m bitter at the U.S. Attorney’s office and at the ‘board of traitors’ at Louisville. I’m not bitter at the school, but at the board of traitors.”
The former Louisville coach offered to turn over emails, phone records and voice recordings to anyone who would offer him an opportunity. He’s hired a new agent, Jordan Bazant, as he begins looking for a coaching job.
“I’ve been assassinated by the Southern district of NY without any wiretap or shred of evidence, and the University of Louisville,” Pitino told ESPN. “That being said, I love teaching basketball and am more passionate than ever.”
According to the report, Pitino has yet to receive interest from any college basketball programs, but had an informal discussion with a rep from an NBA team.
