Another day, another five-star recruit for John Calipari at Kentucky.

Ashton Hagans, a 6’3 point guard from Georgia, committed to the Wildcats Tuesday morning. His decision comes one day after Kentucky landed five-star forward E.J. Montgomery.

Hagans is currently ranked as the No. 18 prospect in the class of 2019, but there’s a chance he could reclassify to join next year’s team. Hagans was originally committed to Georgia, but decided to reopen his recruitment in February. At the time, his grassroots coach on the Adidas circuit said he may move up a year to the class of 2018.

Hagans has yet to officially make that move, but it’s possible he could still do it.

Mark Fox, who recruited Hagans at Georgia, offered this scouting report:

Here’s an interview Hagans did with DraftExpress last August:

Kentucky will have Quade Green back at point guard next season, but needs to replace Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who departed for the draft. Backcourt depth looks like to a concern for Kentucky at the moment, so Hagans would be a big addition should he decide to reclassify.

The Wildcats made it to the Sweet 16 this past season before falling to Kansas State.
