March Madness is underway with the first two games of the First Four in the books. Fairleigh Dickinson ended Prairie View’s season with an 82-76 victory and will now face No. 1 West seed Gonzaga on Thursday evening. Also advancing to the Field of 64 was Belmont with an 81-70 victory over Temple in the second game on Tuesday. The Bruins will face No. 6 Maryland in the East region on Thursday afternoon.

The Field of 64 will be complete on Wednesday evening with another 16-seed and another 11-seed ready for another game in the Big Dance.

Sure, these games may not seem as important as the ones that start on Thursday, but you never know how one of these teams could impact the tournament. In recent years, we’ve actually seen a First Four team win at least one game in the tournament’s “main draw” in every year since the the Dayton games became a thing in 2011. Most recently, Syracuse defeated Arizona State in Dayton, then knocked off both TCU and Michigan State to crash the Sweet 16 in 2018.
