Guard Evan Boehm Re-Commits To Missouri

Missouri lands a great offensive line prospect. Again.

Evan Boehm, one of the top offensive guard recruits in the country, recommitted to the Missouri Tigers on Friday, according to SB nation's Rock M Nation. Boehm, who plays for Lee's Summit, Mo.'s West High School had previously been a Missouri commitment, before backing off to make sure of his choice. He visited Auburn, and then visited Missouri again. On Friday, Boehm came home. Again.

Boehm told the Kansas City Star:

“People think I’ll decomit again,” Boehm said, “but that won’t happen.” ...“I wanted to see what other options I had,” he said. “I checked it out and the feeling came back. I feel I made the right decision the first time.“At 6”3” and 300 pounds, Boehm is everything a coach looks for in a guard prospect. He’s not exceptionally long, but does have a nice frame. Boehm is big for a high schooler, but doesn’t carry the weight in a sloppy fashion.

I particularly like that Boehm is comfortable playing in space, because he has the athleticism to do so. But he’s not a prospect who is scared to play in the proverbial “phone booth.” And that toughness or “want to” is very important at the guard position. Still, if Boehm keeps growing, he could play guard for the Tigers.
