Elijah Shumate Commits To Notre Dame
Elijah Shumate, one of the top defensive backs in the country, has committed to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

At 6’1” and 205 pounds, Shumate has a large build for a safety at the high school level. And he might have room to add 10 more pounds of muscle to his frame.
His strength is clearly against the run. Shumate is a big hitter, who loves to lay the lumber. High school offenses have difficulty blocking him, both because of his talent, and because he plays for a loaded defense against which offenses cannot focus on just one defender.
While he is excellent against the run, his ability to play against the pass is a huge unknown. Teams rarely have the time to throw deep against Don Bosco Prep.
