Ronald Darby, one of the top cornerback recruits in the country, has decommitted from Notre Dame. Darby originally committed to the Irish on April 16th after Notre Dame’s spring game. The Under Armour All-America participant had been rumored to back out of his Notre Dame commitment for a while, and made it official today, according to numerous Twitter reports.

Darby stars for Potomac (Oxon Hill, Md.) and is one of the top players in the state. The 5’11, 174-pound Darby plans to visit Florida State and Clemson. Other visits are possible as well, including Ohio State and LSU. Darby has previously visited Auburn and Maryland.

Darby is rated either four or five stars by the four major recruiting services. He is extremely quick and fast. Darby is a bit raw, and seems like a pure cover corner who will likely never be great against the run. Darby should be expected to make an instant impact in the return game, as well.
