Decommit watch: Robert Nkemdiche not the only star recruit in danger of flipping

Recently, I wrote that college football fans should expect a lot of decommitments in the coming months as many recruits made decisions before taking visits and considering all their options. Here are six high-profile prospects who could make the flip, along with potential destinations.

Alex Anzalone

Robert Nkemdiche | Defensive End | Loganville (Ga.) Grayson High | From: Clemson to Ole Miss?

SB Nation's Steven Godfrey covered this one in amazing detail after spending time with Nkemdiche's brother Denzel, an Ole Miss linebacker, and various Mississippi sources. Read: O brother, where are though? How Ole Miss might land Robert Nkemdiche

Alex Anzalone | Linebacker | Wyomissing (Pa.) High | From: Notre Dame to Florida?

Anzalone has long been rumored to be leaning to Florida, even after he committed to Notre Dame. His father is a Gator alum and Anzalone recently visited to take in Florida’s win over LSU. Rivals Mike Farrel sees him flipping as well ($)

Rumor had it that there were two silent defensive commitments to come out of that game, that Anzalone had already filled out enrollment paperwork for Florida and when he cancelled his official visit to Notre Dame for the BYU game this past weekend, that pretty much sold me that this is over. Now, it’s only a matter of Anzalone saying it out loud.

Tramel Terry | WR/RB | Goose Creek (SC) High | From: Georgia to Clemson?

Terry recommitted to Georgia in early March after previously committing in 2011. However Terry been seriously considering Clemson after taking an official visit a in early October, and there is even word that Clemson may consider allowing Terry to play running back.

Terry’s coach spoke with Palmetto Sports recently.

“He’s got a good relationship with Coach (Tony) Elliott,” Reedy said. “Clemson has been recruiting him real hard and he’s giving it some thought, but he has not said anything to me about wanting to change his commitment.

Georgia still expects Terry to take an official visit to Athens, and won’t give up easily.

Alex Collins | Plantation (Fla.) South High | From: Miami to Florida State?

I recently discussed Collins in Run on running back recruits coming: Green, Collins, Bryant

Collins has been committed to Miami since January, but has never seemed solid. He reciprocated overtures from Wisconsin and Florida State, and after taking in the FSU-Miami game, tweeted the following.

The wording on that tweet is interesting, as Collins is currently a committed player. A committed recruit usually doesn't need to make a decision unless he plans to make a move.

Elijah Daniel | Defensive End | Avon (In.) High | From: Clemson?

Daniel is a very talented player who committed to Clemson in June. But since then, it’s been clear that his commitment to the Tigers is anything but firm. He’s spent multiple weekends on Indiana’s campus, and may elect to visit Florida. He claimed that a decommitment announcement from his Twitter account over the weekend was the result of someone hacking his account, but his connection to Clemson seems tenuous at best.

Max Redfield | Safety | Mission Viejo (Calif.) High | From: USC to Notre Dame?

Redfield has been committed to USC since July, but his commitment to the Trojans hasn’t been solid, as he continues to have interest in Notre Dame.

He loved his visit to South Bend and told Rivals ($) that he now has a tough choice ahead of him.
