Huskies commit Daeshon Hall visits Washington, has other visits planned

The one-time Texas pledge is still looking around despite committing to Washington in late June.

To Texas fans, it's probably not surprising to hear that 2013 Lancaster (TX) defensive end Daeshon Hall, currently committed to the Washington Huskies, is taking other visits. After all, Hall took trips to Baylor and Texas A&M while he was pledged to the Longhorns, both without telling the coaching staff in Austin.

Back in October, the 6-6, 220-pounder with reported 4.6 speed traveled out the Palouse with high school teammate Demarcus Ayers, an athlete who has been committed to Washington State since June. It appears the teammates will be making some trips in the future, too, with plans to take official visits to West Virginia (December 1st), OSU, Texas A&M, and LSU, though it’s not clear when the latter three will happen. How many of those visits will actually include both players remains to be seen as well.

And don’t close the door on Texas, either. Hall told Hookem.com that he’s been in contact with area recruiter Bruce Chambers ($), who has invited him down for a game, which would now have to be the remaining home game left on the schedule, the Thanksgiving tilt against TCU. The team banquet on the weekend following the close of the regular season against Kansas State is the other big recruiting event left on the Texas schedule for the 2013 class.

Last weekend, Hall took his official visit out to Seattle to visit the Washington campus for the season’s final home game against Utah, prompting this tweet on Monday morning:

Hall originally committed to Washington so that he could return to his home state and be closer to his family. There was also some talk that he would spend his final high school football season out there, but he did end up returning to Texas.

So, is being close to home now less of a factor? It appears so, as none of those other programs under consideration are geographically close to Washington.

How committed is Hall to Washington? Scout has him listed as a “soft verbal”, but he told Hookem.com that he is 100% committed. Of course, that 100% commitment may not be enough to keep Hall in the fold for the Huskies. It wasn’t for Texas as Hall continues to seek “the right fit ($).”
