Kameron Miles commits to Texas A&M minutes after dropping Tennessee

The expected news from the former Volunteer pledge came more quickly than expected.

YESSIR

That one simple phrase that has become a cause for celebration for Texas A&M fans under new head coach Kevin Sumlin, who tweets the phrase out when the Aggies land a new commit.

On Wednesday evening, the tweet went out for 2013 West Mesquite (TX) safety Kameron Miles, who made the decision to stay in his home state minutes after announcing that he had ended his longtime commitment to the Tennessee Volunteers.

A four-star prospect who will participate in the 2013 Army All-American game, Miles received his offer from Texas A&M roughly 10 days ago and was candid about his interest in the Aggies in public interviews, calling himself “excited” to receive the offer in an interview just prior to his commitment to A&M.

A prototypical SEC safety at 6-2 and right around 200 pounds, Miles was looked at by some schools as a linebacker/safety hybrid due to his size, but could stay at safety despite the fact that he doesn’t have ideal testing speed. Miles plays fast in pads, hits hard, and has shown the ability to make plays in coverage.

Miles is the third safety commit in the class for the Aggies and the 30th commitment overall for the 2013 class.
