USC Football Recruiting: National Signing Day Commitments, Needs & Targets

Despite sanctions limiting the size of the Class, USC is bringing in top quality players.

Lane Kiffin has the USC recruiting machine fired up once again as the Trojans are poised to bring in yet another elite class of prospects on National Signing Day. And this, despite being forced to recruit with limited scholarships due to NCAA sanctions.

Those sanctions just make every spot that much more important. And USC has been careful about the players it tabs to fill the limited scholarships. Keeping with the theme that the West has some incredible offensive line talent, USC is bringing in three top offensive linemen.

Jordan Simmons of Encino (Calif.) Crespi, a 6'5", 330 pound five-star lineman joins Max Tuerk, a 6'6, 294 pound tackle out of Santa Margarita (Calif.). Zach Banner, the biological son of Oakland Raider great Lincoln Kennedy, is also in the fold. Banner is a five-star out of Lakewood (Wa.) Lakes High School.

USC has also added an elite tight end in Jalen Cope-Fitzpatrick. The 6’5” 250 pound dual-threat tight end is rated four stars by most services and impressed at the Under Armour All-America event in Orlando.

USC is still pursuing many prospects, including Florida defensive end Leonard Williams, Tampa receiver Nelson Agholor, Cleveland offensive lineman Kyle Dodson, Oregon State commitment Devian Shelton, California offensive tackle Kyle Murphy and California defensive tackle Aziz Shittu. USC might also be targeting Cal commitment Bryce Treggs.
