Mike Heuerman, a top tight end recruit, has committed to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Heuerman stars for Naples (Fla.) Barron Collier High School. He holds offers from Miami, Ohio State, Oregon, Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Louisville, Michigan State, Rutgers, South Carolina, South Florida and LSU.

Notre Dame adds a top tight end recruit.
Heuerman is a consensus four-star recruit. His brother, a member of the 2011 recruiting class, plays for Ohio State.

Heuerman stands 6’4” and weighs in at 220 pounds. Heuerman projects as a balanced tight end once he fills out his frame.
This commitment would have been a complete shock just a few weeks ago, as most figured Heuerman a lock for the Buckeyes with his brother. But multiple trips to South Bend showed that Heuerman was serious about the Irish.
Heuerman is Notre Dame’s 12th commitment of the 2013 class.
