USC lands a commitment from the top quarterback prospect in the country.

At 6’5, 214 pounds, he already has the prototypical frame and necessary physical and mental ability to make all the standard throws. Browne has been a relentless producer throughout high school. Browne was also named the Gatorade National Football Player of the Year and led Skyline to two straight Class 4A state titles.

Getty ImagesAs if the commitment of Max Browne, arguably the top quarterback recruit in the country, wasn’t enough for USC fans, Browne is also turning into a recruiter for the Trojans. Last night Browne said that he would start recruiting some of the top prospects in the country including Su’a Cravens, Michael Hutchings, Ty Isaac and Priest Willis.
Cravens, of Murrieta (Calif.) Vista Murrieta, is arguably the top safety recruit in the country. Hutchings, of Concord (Calif.) De La Salle High School, is one of the top outside linebacker recruits in the country. Isaac, of Joliet (Ill.) Catholic Academy, is one of the top running backs and athletes nationally. And Willis, of Tempe (Ariz.) Marcos De Niza, is a stud defensive back recruit.

And where better to face off than in the grandaddy of them all, the Rose Bowl. College football fans can only hope that these two succeed so that they are treated to just such a match.
And Morris did get the first part of his wish, as Browne chose USC over Oklahoma.

Though it is quite early in the recruiting process, Browne was apparently ready to make his decision after two high-profile visits to Oklahoma and USC.
The 6’5”, 205-pound Browne is a consensus five-star recruit and considered by many to be the top quarterback recruit in the country. Browne is a prototypical pocket passer. He has plenty of arm strength to fit the ball into tight spaces and make all the throws. He also shows excellent touch and feel for the precision throws and timing routes. And while Brown is not going to make a lot of people miss in college, he is not completely immobile, either.
