Vincent Jackson, a top recruit from Tampa (Fla.) Jesuit High School for the class of 2014, is seeing his recruitment heat up this spring. Despite battling a minor foot issue, the super sophomore has already picked up almost 20 offers. Some of those top offers include Oklahoma, USC, Auburn, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Stanford, Penn State, Oregon and West Virginia. I visited Jesuit practice for SB Nation’s spring recruiting coverage.

We spoke about the offers standing out to him at this early juncture. One team in particular is looking at Jackson on defense. “West Virginia likes me on defense, and they run a 3-4 defense, which is what I want to play in if I play defense in college,” Jackson said.

Jackson also spoke highly of Oklahoma, Ohio State and USC, most of which are looking at him on the offensive side of the ball. And he mentioned how Oregon’s defensive ends are all quite tall, but not that big, which was interesting to him. At this point in the process, Jackson isn’t really sure if he prefers to play defensive end or tight end at the next level.
